QUESTIONS, ANSWERED BY CAIT

How much does coaching cost?

We will begin with a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your goals and ensure that I am the right fit for you. Afterwards, my rate for coaching is $125 per 50-minute session and $160 per 90-minute session.

Do I need to have a concussion to work with you?

Absolutely not! I work with all learners. I am equipped to provide additional support and resources for those living with a concussion, chronic illness, neurodiversity, and/or a learning disability (both diagnosed and not), although that is not a requirement.

Can I work with you if I am not currently a student?

Yes! Although I market myself as working with students of all ages, coaching utilizes personal strategic planning, goal setting, brainstorming, motivational counseling, and other techniques- all skills that can be helpful at any stage in life. For example, I have worked with adults on resumes and cover letters, job applications, writing personal statements, crafting difficult emails, and boundary setting.

What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

While there are some similarities between coaching and psychotherapy, they have very different goals, purposes, areas of focus, and levels of professional responsibility. Coaching primarily focuses on helping individuals set and achieve specific goals, whether personal or professional. Coaches work with clients to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and then develop strategies and action plans to facilitate growth and success. Psychotherapy, on the other hand, typically focuses on addressing and resolving psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues that may be causing distress or impairment in the individual's life. Counselors help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, often delving into past experiences or traumas to promote healing and personal development. Psychotherapy involves diagnosis, testing, assessment, or treatment of mental health disorders, whereas coaching does not.

Do you offer scholarship opportunities?

Coaching is an investment, but it is important to me that it is also accessible. I offer a set number of scholarship slots, and when full, a waitlist. Any additional fundraising goes towards a scholarship fund to support those who are in need of financial support. I will also work with clients to set up a payment plan if helpful.
