To navigate life with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) is to often uproot everything that once known. I employ a patient-centered, whole-systems approach when working with clients. I value the importance of relationship-building and am a firm believer that coaching should provide space for people to feel empowered, supported, and validated in their lived experience. Many people I work with come to me not knowing what they are looking for in support, and that is okay! I always meet clients where they are at with empathy and grace.

Common challenges of navigating life with a TBI may include:

  • Feeling a lack of control over symptoms

  • Medical trauma

  • Difficulty completing tasks

  • Organizational challenges

  • Detachment from sense of self

  • Grief as a result of loss in identity

  • Isolation from others and community

  • Invalidation by others of your lived experience

  • Advocacy for needs

  • Shifts in relationships

  • Mood dysregulation

  • Difficulty adjusting to school, work, and/or home life

I strive to:

  • Cultivate a supportive working relationship

  • Foster growth

  • Co-create a vision of hope

  • Identify and utilize strengths

  • Deliver appropriate feedback

  • Build confidence and autonomy
